For many people in emerging markets such as India or China, their first experience of the internet is via a mobile device. Mobile phones far outnumber personal computers, and rich mobile devices such as the iPhone or Blackberry are soon catching up. Vast numbers of people in both developed and developing worlds are using rich mobile devices as part of their daily routine whether it is accessing email, browsing, researching, playing, buying etc. Many publishers strive to dominate local search, but that’s so 2008.
